Royal Wedding Celebrations
Cinderella married Prince Charming in a fictional fairy tale wedding. On April 29, Kate Middleton will finally marry her prince, William, in what’s sure to be a real fairy tale wedding. The wedding will take place at historic Westminster Abbey, where both the Queen and Queen Mother said their vows so long ago. Westminster Abbey is also the site where the funeral of Princess Diana, William’s mother was held. Royal wedding celebrations are already beginning to take place all throughout the globe, especially in England.
Prime Minister David Cameron has declared April 29 a national holiday, so the country will be able to relax and watch the lavish nuptials. It will be a day of celebrations throughout the country as millions are sure to line the wedding route to try to get a glimpse of the future queen. People will likely use ladders, park benches, books, or anything to get a better view of the wedding procession. There is no doubt going to be citizens lining the streets for days in advance, and the atmosphere is sure to be festive. Prince William and Kate have announced that they welcome these celebrations as they want everyone to rejoice with them. Royal wedding street parties are a tradition in England as the entire country is mesmerized by this momentous event. Restaurants are preparing cheerful celebrations to pay tribute to the royal family. There is sure to be jovial music, fun dancing, and great beer both on the street and at most venues throughout Britain. Even though pubs are under law to stop serving alcohol at 11:00 p.m, authorities are expected to change the mandate one night only and extend the deadline to 1:00 a.m. With everyone off for the day, there will be wedding parties at many locations throughout the country, as people want to honor the happy couple. Thousands will be sure to feel patriotic as people will get out their red, white, and blue to show pride in their country. London is expected to be full of tourists as everyone wants to share in the joy of a royal wedding. No doubt, people from all over the planet will continue to celebrate for days as they mark one of the most historic days in history.
